Please review all pre and post instructions prior to signing consent for all treatments.
By providing your consent for these procedures, you acknowledge and agree to the following care instructions.
- Health Status:
- Clients should be in good health and have no chronic illnesses or medical conditions that could affect the outcome of my treatment.
- Medications:
- Have not currently taken Motrin, aspirin, or any other blood-thinning medications, and I agree to avoid these for 72 hours before any invasive treatment.
- Have not consumed antibiotics or steroids within the last 10 days. If I have, I will reschedule my appointment.
- Skin Condition:
- Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, lotions, and any other products.
- Not using Accutane and have not used it within the last 6 months.
- Do not used retinols or skin-lightening products in the treatment area for 7-10 days, unless otherwise instructed by my provider.
- Cold Sores:
- Pre-treat for cold sores 3-7 days before treatments involving the face or private areas if I am prone to them.
- Hydration and Nutrition:
- Maintain a minimum intake of 62 ounces of water daily for 5-7 days post-treatment.
- Eat a protein-based meal before my treatment.
- Review and Questions:
- Review the contraindications, pre, and post-instructions located on the Skin+Tonic Brighton website: www.skinandtonicbrighton.com.

- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Active infections or rashes in the treatment area
- Severe or uncontrolled chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease)
- History of severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis
- Recent surgery or invasive procedures in the treatment area
- Use of immunosuppressive medications
- Cancer or undergoing cancer treatments
- Skin Preparation: Prep your skin with medical-grade skincare products for optimal results. If unsure, consult with our staff for the best recommendations.
- Oral Collagen Supplement: Consider taking an oral collagen supplement to enhance the benefits of the treatment.
- Avoid Blood Thinners: Refrain from using blood thinners, including Motrin, aspirin, and any supplements that affect blood coagulation.
- Sun Exposure: Avoid tanning beds, sunless tanning products, and extended natural sun exposure.
- Cold Sores: Notify staff if you have a history of cold sores. Pretreat 3-5 days before and 3-5 days after the treatment to prevent outbreaks.
- You may be subject to a $50 rescheduling fee if these instructions are not followed.
First 24 Hours:
1. Rinse Face: Rinse your face with cool water. Avoid using hot water.
2. Makeup: Do not apply makeup.
3. Pillowcase: Change your pillowcase to prevent bacteria.
4. Upright Position: Remain upright for at least 2-3 hours after treatment.
5. Cleansing: Use only a cool rinse. Pat dry with a soft cloth.
6. Wash and Moisturize: Use only the wash provided for you in your post care kit.
7. Tylenol: Take Tylenol for discomfort if needed; avoid Motrin or other NSAIDs.
First 72 Hours:
1. Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure.
2. Makeup: Avoid makeup application (eye makeup can be worn after the first 24 hours).
3. Cleansing: Continue using a soft cloth to pat dry your face.
After 72 Hours:
1. Skin Care Routine: Resume your normal skincare routine and use SPF daily to protect your skin.
2. Medical-Grade Products: For best results, use medical-grade skincare products. Consult with our staff if you need guidance on suitable products for your skin.
3. Avoid direct sun exposure.
- Follow-Up Treatments: If on a package, confirm your next treatment appointment. It is recommended to have 3-4 treatments, with maintenance sessions every 6 months and annual repeats to enhance and sustain results and collagen production.
- Complementary Treatments:

- CO2 Cool Peel: Consider for maximizing results.

Common Side Effects:
- Redness: Your skin may be red for a few hours; most people will notice only a glow.
- Sunburn Sensation: Mild sunburn-like feeling is common.
- Bleeding and Swelling: Minimal pinpoint bleeding, mild redness, swelling, and discomfort may occur.
- Tingling: Mild tingling may occur if a numbing cream was used.
